Renato Loberto joined team owner Paul Van Loenhout in the Mt Magnet Drilling Ferrari 458 Challenge EVO for Round 4 of the Australian GT Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park.
In what was the debut of the Ferrari 458 Challenge in Australian GT Challenge Class, Renato and Paul did not disappoint putting the car on Pole Position for it’s class, and ahead of many Class A GT3 cars in the outright standings, and securing the round win.
In Race 1 there was a misunderstanding with the pace car and officials incorrectly picked up the lead car, which put Paul and Renato a lap down. Finishing 7th on track, but 16th in the official standings.
Starting from 16th in Race 2, Renato charged hard through the field to 8th position outright on his home track, before handing over to Paul in the driver change, who brought the car home in 1st place for Challenge class, to secure the round win.
It was smiles all around as the drivers and crew (from Ferrari Maserati Sydney) celebrated their win.
